Sourcing & Sustainability
Sustainable firewood is an environmentally friendly renewable energy resource that is sourced from sustainably managed FSC® forests (Forest Stewardship Council). Kiln-dried firewood is a sustainable heating option that offers a carbon-neutral solution. The wood used for kiln-drying comes from sustainably managed forests in Scandinavia and the European Union countries, ensuring that trees are responsibly harvested and replaced. During the kiln drying process, excess moisture is removed, resulting in logs with moisture levels below 20%. This ensures better heat output and higher energy efficiency compared to other types of firewood. Sticks Kiln-dried logs are also FSC® certified and 100% natural, making them ideal for use in all log-burning stoves and fires and commercial pizza ovens.
WHERE DOES OUR WOOD COME FROM?
100 % of Sticks firewood supply, comes from Scandinavian and European Union state forests, which assures only legally harvested trees reach the production site. The countries we use to supply our wood have been recognized to be the best in the world in protecting forests (The annual Environmental Performance Index, Yale University, 2012). In addition to that, both Sticks* and our supplier holds an FSC® chain of custody certificate, issued for companies that purchase wood from well-manged forests.

Safety & Usage
- Stable Stacking: Limit firewood stacks to 1.10m. Use log stores for added stability and airflow.
- Safe Retrieval: Always take logs from the top to prevent stack collapse.
- Ignition: Avoid potent accelerants like gasoline. Use kindling or eco-friendly fire gels.
- Clearance: Ensure a 1m gap between fire sources and flammable items. Wood stoves need 15cm clearance from walls and a fire-resistant base.
- Fire Building: Whether stacking conventionally or upside-down, always use quality kiln dried wood from trusted suppliers like Sticks.
